Arthur J. Frieling



Arthur J. Frieling, 96, of Boonville, passed away at Cooper County Memorial Hospital on Thursday, January 05, 2012.

Visitation for Mr. Frieling will be at Davis Funeral Chapel on Sunday evening, January 8 from 5:00 until 7:00. Funeral services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Lone Elm at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2012, with Pastor Paul Weisenborn officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Arthur Johnas Frieling was born in Cooper County on November 6, 1915, the son of George Frieling and Christina Schmalfeldt Frieling.  Mr. Frieling was baptized in Zion Lutheran Church December 19, 1915, and was confirmed March 24, 1929. He married Dorsey Rasmussen November 20, 1941, in Lone Elm and they are the parents of two children. Arthur farmed in the Lone Elm area all his life until his retirement and later moved to Boonville in 1996. He was a proficient musician and enjoyed playing with friends, for weddings, as well as just for fun. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing baseball throughout the area. He was a family man who provided for his children and he adored his grandchildren.

Mr. Frieling was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters and by his daughter, Juanita Beltz. He is survived by his wife, Dorsey, of the home, his son Glenn Frieling (Donna) of Lone Elm and son-in-law Glen Beltz (Elke) of Bloomington, IL. as well as four grandchildren; Tonya Alliger (Brian) of Fort Wayne, IN., Nedra Tanksley (Steve) of Ballwin, MO., Derek Frieling (April) of Savannah, MO., and Kevin Frieling (Melissa) of Lone Elm. Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren; James, Luke and Ruth Alliger, Sarah and Zachary Tanskley, Haley and Bronson Frieling and Mason and Reagan Frieling.

Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church of Lone Elm.
