Etta ‘Jane’ Brengarth, 81, of Boonville, passed from this life at Katy Manor Care Center on Friday, Jan.28, 2012 in the same manner that she lived; gently and peacefully.
Visitation for Jane will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel in Boonville on Tuesday morning, Jan.31, 2012 from 9:00 until 10:30 A.M, prior to being transferred to SS Peter and Paul Church for the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 o’clock with Father Bob Duesdieker officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Etta Jane Brengarth was born in Fostoria, Ohio July 5, 1930, the daughter of Clyde Payne and Lura Allene Turner Payne. She graduated from Fostoria High School in 1948.She transferred to Boonville from FostoriA, Ohio with the Berstead (McGraw Edison) manufacturing company as an executive secretary until her retirement. Jane married Phillip Brengarth in 1958, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Phillip preceded her in death in 2007. Jane’s family, in Ohio, is in the nursery business, and ironically, a generation or two ago, the family had a business in Boonville, MO, called the Payne Brothers Floral and pet shop, at 420 Main Street, telephone # 88. Jane was active in the church; she enjoyed raising flowers and spending her time with Phillip and extended family.
Jane is survived by her brother, Joe Payne of Ohio; by nephews, Virgil (Linda) Brengarth of Wooldridge, MO, Jeff (Carla) Brengarth, of Boonville, Celeste (Harold) Eutsler, of Buffalo, WY. Nieces and nephews from Ohio side, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
